This extremely rare coin shows a fully clothed Sol, holding a globe close to his body and with chlamys. A fully clothed Sol can be found on earlier coins such as RIC 73 (Nicomedia) from 311, and the globe held close to the body is found on coins from several western mints, such as RIC VI 325 (Rome) from 312-313, but this is the only known coin showing the globe held close to the body in the extensive post-313 'SOLI INVICTO COMITI' coinage. The reverse of this coin was surely inspired by those earlier depictions.
